Statue

Northern Art Carbooty, Plant Noma, Manchester, 30 August 2018 This work was commissioned by Northern Art Carbooty, Statue takes inspiration from the excessive representation of the male and lack of diversity in public statues with my own desire to want to communicate more with audiences. My peculiar visual representation of a statue looks at odds with traditional statues in its asymmetric, playful yet serious aesthetic. The early accompanying soundtrack was taken from feminist popular music culture from the 1970s– 80s that have influenced my identity.
